Hello. I am a social scientist who works at the University of York. I specialise in  embodied human interaction and technology. I particularly interested in the way we might think of human interaction as a form of dance. This comes from an early career in performance and as a ballroom dance teacher. I currently teach about, and research, contemporary technologies, such as Twitch and Soundcloud, and am interested in the ways they change society and human interaction.  I am also keenly interested in robotics and human embodiment.

On this page you can find links to a list of my publications, the courses I teach, and my research. You can also find a blog, in which I talk about my research interests.

If you are looking for a Phd or Post Doc position, I am interested in supervising  the following areas:
  • embodied interaction
  • embodied interaction with and through technology
  • robotics and human embodiment
  • dance and human sociality
If your interests are not listed here, please still get in touch. Who's to know, maybe there is a new area, waiting to be discovered. My email address is at the bottom of the page.
